The 2018 SCIAA Middle School Football Friendship Classic should be called the Battle of Champions. The four teams participating in this year’s Friendship Classic should provide the county with some of the most entertaining middle school football players to date. The Friendship Classic was created to bridge the relationships between Middle School football programs that wouldn’t normally compete against each other and to showcase some of the best Middle School talent in the county. Not only does the Friendship Classic showcase talented youth but it also points at the importance of middle school football to the community at-large. The participating teams are Bellevue Middle, coached by Byron Harris, whose Bobcats are 3x Back to Back TMSAA Small School champions. They will be playing the 2x Back to Back TMSAA Large School champions, the Tigers of Havenview Middle.
The final game will display the coaching skills of Coach Terry of the Ridgeway Roadrunner versus the Tomcats of Haywood Middle from Brownsville, TN, 2017 TMSAA Large School Runner-Up, led by Coach Steven Robinson.
Don’t miss out on this year’s Friendship Classic held at Kirby Stadium on August 25th. Games will start at 11:00am.
