It was an exciting night at Memphis Metro JVC as the Havenview Tigers and Bellevue Bobcats took home the 2013 SCIAA Championship Titles.
In the large division, it took Havenview three grueling games to put away the White Station Spartans. Havenview took the first game, White Station’s serving led them to victory in the second game while Havenview’s persistent defense brought home a victory in the third game. Havenview’s MVP, Ishka Jackson led her #1 undefeated team over Cordova and Ridgeway to advance to the finals of the 2013 SCIAA Championship. Congratulations to Coach Howell and the Havenview Tigers, the 2013 SCIAA Large Schools Champions.
In the small division, the Corry Eagles faced off with the Bellevue Bobcats. Bellevue took the first game in extra points 27-25. Corry struck back to take the second game of the set, but Bellevue trudged back led by MVP, Lauryn Carruthers, to take the third and final game and the Championship. The Bellevue Bobcats defeated Westside and Lester to advance to the finals game. Congratulations to Coach Dease and the Bellevue Bobcats, the 2013 SCIAA Small Schools Champion.
The Havenview Tigers and Bellevue Bobcats will continue their seasons next Tuesday, October 1st to represent Memphis in the West Tennessee Sectionals.
