Cordova HS Wins 2011 MIAA Soccer Championship

The High School championship game between Cordova HS and White Station HS was just as exciting as the MS Soccer Championship game.  Both schools battled for 80 minutes only to come away with a 2-2 tie.  They then went an additional 20 minutes of overtime.  Still no winner after 2 overtimes. The game came down to the dreaded penalty kicks.  Exciting saves were made by both keepers.  Cordova HS finally won  4-3 on pk’s.

The most outstanding player for Cordova HS was Jordan Henderson.

2011 MIAA Middle School Football City Championships

On Saturday, October 22, 2011, Georgian Hills Middle School defeated Lester Middle School by the score of 16-6 in the Small Division City Championship at Crump Stadium to claim the title of MIAA 2011 Small Division City Champions, with a record of 9-0… The Most Outstanding Player of the Game was #8 for Georgian Hills, Jutarian Malone. In the Large Division Championship game the Bellevue Bobcats defeated the White Station Spartans 12-7. The Bobcats held the Spartans on 4th down on the 1 yard line, to claim the 2011 MIAA Large Division City Championship. Davonte Turner #8 of Bellevue Middle School was selected as the Outstanding Player of the game. Bellevue Middle finished with a record of 9-0… The MIAA would like to congratulate each team on having a great season. Georgian Hills Middle will host the winner of Three Oaks and Paris Inman, on October 29, 2011, at Crump Stadium, 1:00pm. Bellevue Middle will travel to Brighton, Tennessee, to play Brighton Middle School at 1:00pm, on October 29, 2011.

Cordova MS wins 2011 MIAA Middle School Soccer City Championship

October 15, 2011, Cordova Middle School and White Station Middle School battled for 6o minutes only to come away with a 1-1 tie.  In an emotional rollercoaster ride, the score was still tied after (2) 10 minute overtimes.  The game would come down to the dreaded penalty kicks.  Both keepers made excellent saves.  The penalty kicks went into the 7th player before the final outcome.  Cordova eventually won 3-2 on penalty kicks.  The MIAA would like to congratulate both teams for an exciting game of soccer.  They were no losers in this game!

Trezevant Bears win 2011 JV Football City Championship

On Monday, October 10, 2011, Trezevant High defeated Craigmont High with a score of 38-0 at Crump Stadium to claim the title of MIAA 2011 JV City Champions. The Most Outstanding Player of the Game was #1 for Trezevant, Jordan Spencer.

The MIAA would like to congratulate each team on having a great season.
