The Class A-AA Championship saw the return of last year’s runner up Memphis Business Academy versus Memphis East making their first appearance. The Execs wasted no time getting down to business scoring the first goal within 20 seconds of the start. They didn’t let up as the game was very one sided with MBA scoring a total of 4 goals in the first half. East had a nice shot on goal after a free kick but continued scoreless until the last 2 minutes of the half, scoring their first goal on a penalty kick. As the second half got started East turned the tables and scored early on a free kick. They rallied back and made another attack taking advantage of the keeper out of goal but MBA’s defender made a great save to prevent that score. Several minutes later they did manage to score and shorten the lead to 1 goal. That was enough to get the Execs attention and both teams continued to battle it out. As the game neared its final minutes MBA sent another shot past the Mustang keeper and followed up with their sixth score 30 seconds later securing their first championship title. The Execs were lead by MVP of the game Agustin Fernandez and Coach Trey Whitsitt.

In Class AAA the Central Warriors returned to the championship to take on Cordova. Both teams faced off during the season with Cordova coming away with that victory. The game was off to a good start with Cordova making a nice save off a corner kick but Central scored first, and after going up 2-0 the Wolves started to take notice. This was a physical game, players on both sides were taking shots at each other but Cordova was never quite able to get the edge on the Warriors and were shutout 3-0. Coach Salter and his team became back to back Champions and last year’s MVP Fidel Nibaruta was once again given top honors.
